Since our initial founding in July 2025, Kids That Care Club (KTCC) -Uganda has made significant strides in uniting youth in the Luwafu slums to become peer mentors in their community.
Families that were once struggling to keep their children away from negative influences, substance abuse and criminal activities are experiencing a new feeling of relief and gratitude to know that their children have a safe place to go and are learning new skills that will lead to respectful and gainful employment.
Luwafu is located in the Makindye Division of Kampala and is home to impoverished residents, where there is a high prevalence of substance abuse, early pregnancy, school drop-outs, child labor, domestic violence, prostitution, criminal activities and disease.
The formation of KTCC-Uganda has introduced a new model for this urban slum area as it not only offers a safe place for youth to come and hang out, but is a place where Hope becomes reality.
